Black Lives Matter


With the anniversary of George Floyds death approaching, we at SLO want to continue the conversation and fight for black lives as it is still a current and pressing issue. Although George Floyd’s murderer has been brought to justice, countless others are yet to see justice including Breonna Taylor, Philando Castile, Ahmaud Arbery and many others.


In the age of social media, we are more aware of systemic racism and the effects it has on Black, Indigenous and People of Colour. Yet, not enough strides have been made to rectify and tear apart the institutions that disadvantage them. There is still much to learn and much change to be made. We need to listen to black voices, amplify them, and do the work that must be done.
